This is a truly delightful and “timeless” ring.
Manufactured in 9ct rose gold it has the clear assay mark for Chester.
The overall impression is that of a modern day signet ring, however the upper cartouche is actually a cleverly concealed lid to the inner locket chamber which contains a sample of hair.
These rings are rare to find. More commonplace are mourning rings which usually bear some black enamel or decoration.
