An extremely rare Edwardian rectangular step cut natural fire opal of 3.46 cts, which has a strong firey red/orange colour which is eye clean and virtually inclusion free. The central fire opal is flanked by 8 old European cut round diamonds totalling 0.5 cts . F colour VSI.. The whole set in 18 ct white gold. The securing pin in 9ct white gold.
