Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Art Deco design typically features geometric shapes, streamlined forms, symmetry, and a departure from ornate Victorian ornamentation, often reflecting the modernity of the 1920s and 1930s.

Antique toast racks were predominantly crafted from sterling silver or silver plate, utilizing techniques such as silversmithing, wire bending, casting, and hand soldering.

Authentic pieces are identified by examining the hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically indicate the makers mark, standard of purity, assay office, and a date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture.

Such pieces can be displayed on open shelving, used as a functional tabletop accessory during breakfast, or styled as part of a curated collection of metalware in a dining room.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth or specialized polish to avoid removing the hallmark details and desirable patina, and stored in a low-humidity environment.
