This Victorian camphorwood campaign trunk was made circa 1870.
It would have been purchased by a British officer who was in service in the Far East.
This meant the uniforms would not get attacked by these insects.
The trunk with the lifting lid that opens to reveal full storage inside.
The exterior has brass straps to protect the chest as it was loaded onto wagons, carts, and ships.
To each end is a brass carrying handle, so that the local helpers could carry it easily.
