Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era, spanning from 1910 to 1936, saw a revival of classical motifs alongside clean Edwardian influences, often drawing inspiration from earlier Georgian and Regency designs with balanced proportions and refined surface decoration.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, stamped with hallmarks to guarantee purity, and frequently constructed using sheet metal techniques with hand-engraved surface patterns, soldered joints, and fitted interior linings.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark for sterling silver, a town assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of manufacture.

Placing the box on a dressing table, bedside surface, or mantelpiece introduces a reflective metallic texture that contrasts effectively with contemporary minimalist furniture or adds a polished accent to traditional spaces.

Silver should be cleaned infrequently using a non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain its patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip away desirable age-related patination, and stored in a dry environment to prevent tarnishing.
