Description

First quarter 20th century.

Stunning saturated luminous colours throughout.

Unusual design of pairs of piggy-back peacocks (possibly representing a mother and child design which is very relevant throughout all south and west persian tribes as a feature in some rugs) within the dark blue field and corner quadrants.

And with smaller birds scattered about.

Notice also to the right side edge the white coloured wool counter marks tallying the different days weaving progress.

A true nomadic product from these tribes.

Nice pile throughout.couple of very small repairs hardly noticeable at all with all ends and sides secured. Hand washed and dusted.

7 foot 6 inches X 5 foot 1 inches. 229cm X 155cm. At widest points. All wool construction with the wefts dyed light brown as usual for qashqai weavings.
