Lakai uut kapi were traditional hanging bags crafted by the Lakai tribe of Central Asia, historically used in yurt interiors for storing household belongings or bedding.

These items typically feature handspun wool and cotton foundations embellished with dense silk embroidery, frequently utilising couching and basma stitches.

Authenticity is determined by natural vegetable dyes, hand-woven base fabrics, traditional tribal motifs, and signs of genuine age and nomadic use.

Such pieces are commonly mounted on linen or custom-built frames and displayed as focal wall art in living areas or studies to add texture and global heritage.

Preservation requires mounting away from direct sunlight, avoiding high humidity, and consulting textile conservators for professional cleaning rather than washing.
