A good example of a solid sterling silver hot water jug. It is a simple stylish shape with a shaped wooden handle, gadrooned rim and nicely turned finial. It is engraved on the front "Presented To Flying Officer W.L.McLaren By The Officers. R.A.F Duxford. 14th February 1926".
It is a good quality piece, weighing a total of 441g with the handle.
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1921. The maker's mark is slightly worn but we believe it is S Blanckensee & Son Ltd.
It is in very good condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays well . There are some faint surface scratches, a few light surface marks, minor dinks and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
