Size: 7ft 6in x 3ft 10in (228 x 118cm).Antique Ersari Turkmen ensi of traditional design with excellent colour and good age.Circa 1870 or earlier.Ensi were door hangings used to cover the entrance to a yurt.This early example has the four panels, said to represent the windows to paradise; these are separated by the central panel and vertical panels filled with traditional Turkmen designs, the ensi is framed by the ivory ground borders of ''ashik'' design.
