Antique Afghan prayer rug of traditional village mosque design by the Kizil Ayak Turkmen.
 
Circa 1900.
 
The rug is of unusual form with a double prayer niche design, each niche showing a mosque at the top with multiple minarets, and the inside of a mosque.
 
The rug is in excellent condition, with very slight even wear and good pile. The rug retains the original short kilim end finish. There are a few scattered old repairs.
 
The rug is suitable for light domestic use and is suitable for wall hanging.
