The drop-in seat has been re-upholstered sometime in the past, possibly in the early 20th century and features a petit point / needlepoint embroidered seat, with a webbed base and hessian underside. The drop-in seat is in excellent clean condition. The seat is firm, but very comfortable to sit on. The seat sits within a moulded mahogany frame, raised on block moulded tapering legs. Ideal for use as a bedroom dressing stool, piano or foot stool, in the living room.
The Georgian mahogany style stool mahogany frame boasts a rich, warm mahogany colour, having been cleaned and wax polished to a professional standard in our workshop. The stool boasts a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian mahogany stool, ideal as a dressing or piano stool, circa 1820, with a petit point / needlepoint embroidered seat, in excellent condition. The seat has been re-upholstered sometime in the past, possibly in the early 20th century and features a petit point / needlepoint embroidered seat, with a webbed base and hessian underside. The drop-in seat is in good & clean condition. The seat is firm, but very comfortable to sit on. The frame is in excellent condition, with no breaks or damage. The mahogany stool has been cleaned and wax polished by hand to a professional standard. Nominal old use marks to the edges of the frames, but nothing significant considering the age of them. This Georgian mahogany stool is solid in joint and ready to use.
