A Stunning Edwardian Silver & Tortoiseshell Pot Pourri

A gorgeous Edwardian silver pot pourri box. This lovely piece is of rounded form with a pull off lid, decorated with inlaid pique work to the tortoiseshell. Small pieces like this were used to scent cupboards or chests of drawers and were filled with violets or other fragrant petals. They were also component parts of large travelling toiletry sets and are not often found. A good collector's piece, both decorative and practical. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or breaks. There are a couple of pinprick dimples to the base, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Distortion to the Maker's mark.
