Antique Georgian Carved Oak Coffer Chest Box with Original Lock & Key C1780 W6277/14.2

Description

Superb antique george 111 carved joined oak coffer chest and dating from aorund 1780. It has a moulded edge to the plank top with the unusual feature of having its original working lock and key (see photo). It has carved figural panels to the front and carved to the sides with iron handles. Internally there is a candle box and it stands on stile feet.

It is hand and peg joined.

Measures: 23" high X 22" deep X 42" wide

In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the nut brown oak and oozes the charm and character of georgian the period
