In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is in good condition throughout and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside and a small repair to one side. There is some wear to the leather inside and a small hole in the lid lining. There are some old ink stains and other general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental or untoward and overall it displays very well. It does not come with a key.
