This curved and very decorative 19th century fender is beautifully cast with scrolls, leaves and Tudor rose boss handles. Having been professionally polished, the fender now has the appearance of burnished steel.
Small fenders like this one were placed on the hearth to keep falling ash in check. While still useful for this purpose, today it can be regarded as a very decorative item.
The quality of this fender is outstanding and it would add character and charm to a contemporary home.
