A very good looking well made and decorative trunk, it can be used free standing or laying down, it has handles top and bottom for carriage and transportation, naturally the modern function of these pieces is for adding a sense of style and class to a space, we have one at home as a coffee table and when they are this shape and size, they work brilliantly

This piece as mentioned has been fully restored on the outside, the internals as ever has been left totally original and untouched. The work to the outside has been extensive, the case has been completely washed back taking off the years of travel dirt, the timber washed back waxed and polished, all the studs and brass work burnished and polished, the steel work painted black and then the whole thing sealed. This piece is ready to go for another 100 years
There are areas of wear externally as with all these pieces, usually from loading and unloading, there will be general patination all over as you would hope (and expect) based on honest age and genuine use
