Impressive C19th large Venetian tole hanging lantern; with original gilt and painted decoration; the flower bud finial supporting the circular hanging ring above the hexagonal domed roof surmounted by scroll pediments. The tapering body having a pierced frieze above the original glazed panels incorporating a door. Raised on a concave plinth with a glass base. The interior with a three branch light fitting. The wonderful original decoration showing appropriate signs of age with worn gilt and paint to simulate verdigris bronze.
