Cast in a bright gold colour, the piece displays a broad moulded curb base supporting baluster posts topped with pinecone finials, connected by elaborate cast brass floral garlands and leafy swags along the front and sides. The substantial construction rests directly upon the floor in front of a fireplace hearth as a protective barrier.
