Edwardian silver encompasses pieces manufactured during the reign of King Edward VII, typically between 1901 and 1910, often featuring lighter, more revivalist motifs drawn from Georgian and Neoclassical styles.

These items are traditionally fashioned from sterling silver or solid silver, utilizing techniques such as silversmithing, hand-raising, chasing, and intricate edge-moulding.

Authentic pieces are identified through clear hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark indicating sterling silver, a town assay mark such as the Sheffield crown, and a date letter.

An antique silver salver functions well as a reflective decorative surface on a sideboard or coffee table, used to group objects like glassware or candles, providing a contrast in metallic texture within modern schemes.

Silver should be cleaned periodically using a specialist non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip the natural patina and damage soldered joints.
