Victorian Carved Coral Acorn Earrings

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Earring Curator

A rare pair of Victorian earrings carved in a material believed to be a deep salmon-coloured coral. Beautifully designed with realistic acorns and leaves which have a lovely level of detail. The ear wires test as sterling silver. The earrings come with the matching brooch pictured.

• Condition: The earrings are in amazing condition considering their age, these finely detailed items rarely survive in one piece; when seen from the back each earring is missing a piece which would have hung down behind. The brooch has quite a lot of damage to the leaves, see photos, although can still be worn as a lovely piece.

• Fixing: Ear wires. Supplied with tiny plastic ''keepers'' for additional security. The brooch has a simple C clasp.

• Era: Victorian, 19th century.

• Size: The earrings measure approx 3cm total drop from the top of the ear wires x 1.5cm wide. The brooch is 3 x 4.1cm diameter.

• Weight: 5.9g.
