Edwardian 9ct Gold Heart And Flowers Mizpah Brooch Birmingham 1902

A pretty Edwardian 9ct gold Mizpah brooch. Formed as a bar brooch with a central heart inscrbed with the words ''the Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent from one another'' and ''Mizpah'' in a band across the centre. Delicately formed flowers and leaves entwine the bar, lightly engraved and angled to catch the light.
 
 
 
It really is a fine and pretty piece, and a lovely token of love or friendship.
 
 
 
The brooch bears hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office 1902, marked 375 for 9ct. The brooch is secured at the back with a pin. (This pin is not gold).
 
 
 
Condition: In great condition. Measurements: Width: 4.1 Height: 1.6 cm Weight: 2.75 grams
