French Vermeil Silver Covered Bowl

Description

This is simply wonderful.

The condition is quite remarkable, very slight wear to the gilding, most noticeably on the base where it has sat. Napoleonic revival in style makers mark for Limousine & Souche, whose workshop was as 76 Rue Des Archives, Paris. This mark was entered in 1905 and was out of use by 1925. Duty mark to both base and lid 950.
