FAQs

Rosenthal has a long history of manufacturing fine German porcelain since the late 19th century, known for artistic collaborations and high-quality craftsmanship. The Alt Brabant line typically features classic floral motifs combined with ornate gilded borders characteristic of mid-20th-century European dinnerware.

These plates are crafted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain, glazed for a smooth and durable finish. The decoration involves transfer-printed floral centerpieces combined with hand-applied or etched gold leaf rims.

Authentic pieces bear specific manufacturer backstamps on the underside, which vary by production era to help date the item. Genuine vintage items also display crisp enamel transfer details and consistent weight characteristic of quality period porcelain.

These decorative plates can be displayed on wall mounts, showcased within a glass-front cabinet, or used selectively for formal dining settings to introduce a touch of historic metallic warmth to contemporary tablescapes.

To preserve the delicate enamel and metallic gilding, hand washing with mild detergent and a soft cloth is recommended. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, soaking in harsh chemicals, and use in microwaves or dishwashers.
