Carolean C17th & Later Carved Dark Oak Carved Mule Chest (Coffer Kist Jacobean)

A Charles II period and later, carved dark oak mule chest. This mule chest with solid plank hinged top. Carved triple panel front, over a carved front full width drawer. Panelled sides. Lock and escutcheon. Raised on short through stiles.

This chest presents well and much of it is original, though there're several elements of a later date and some recent. Cleaned, waxed and ready to use.

Dimensions:

This mule chest measures approximately 76 cm (29") tall, 137 cm (54") wide, and 58 cm (23") deep.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This mule chest is in a reasonably good original condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Good colour, polish and patina throughout. Some marks and blemishes, in keeping with its age and through use. There are some replacement parts, including some of recent times. There is a slightly natural age shrinkage gap between the planks in the top. Very slightly bowed to the front of the top rail across front of the chest, and therefore needs pushing in slightly to close the top. Cleaned and waxed. In good working order, very serviceable and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

Returns

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied. Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original delivery charges are non-refundable. Responsibility for the item remains with the buyer until it has been safely received back.
