Condition Report:

This is a fine quality antique English 17th century oak coffer, with three carved lozenge panels, circa 1680, boast a stunning colour, with original carvings, in excellent condition. The oak chest has been cleaned and wax-polished, to a professional standard in our workshop. Nominal old marks to the top and leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (such old use marks are inevitable and perfectly acceptable due to its age and use it would have received). The interior is clean, dry, and usable. The 17th century oak coffer retains its original lid, floor, sides and back. The coffer incorporates iron loop hinges, which have been restored at some point in the past – the loop hinges are sturdy and in good working condition. The internal candle box and lid are original and is in good working order. The oak chest also incorporates a working lock and working key. The coffer is solid in joint; it does not wobble on the floor and is ready to use. Considering the age of this 17th century oak coffer, it is in very good condition.
