Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

Turquoise, in the language of Victorian sentimental jewellery, also represents the forget-me-not flower symbolising true love and loyalty.
The earrings are in good antique condition, though one of the tiny turquoise petals is vacant.

We believe pietra dura to be a very undervalued medium which could soon prove a good investment; as more and more finds its way into private collections it is getting much harder to find and the skills to make it barely exist any more. Each piece would take a master craftsman many hours to make and most originated in Italy, likely brought back as a souvenir or gift from a young Victorian chap doing "the Grand Tour" of Europe.

Size: The earrings measure approx 1.2cm across, the total drop is 2cm.
Weight: 2.2g.
