A Large Irish Silver Rat-tail Basting/stuffing Spoon

A superb Irish silver stuffing or basting spoon from the beginning of the Victorian era. This wonderful, sought after example is of good gauge silver and is in Fiddle pattern. It has a handsome armorial and is top marked (hallmarks at the top reverse of the handle). The spoon is of large proportions and the bowl has a rat-tail to the reverse - a device when found in combination with fiddle pattern that seems peculiarly Irish in design. Spoons of this type are always in demand and an Irish example is a great find. Dimensions below.
