Description

Weight: 2.4gr

Metal: 18kt rose and white gold

Stones: 3 Synthetic Rubies

Hallmarks: French – Eagle’s head

Maker’s mark

Condition: Very Good

Comments: The plus is in 18kt white gold and the minus with 3 rectangular synthetic rubies. The medal is signed A.A. on the right for Alphonse Augis. It is written in French: " + qu'hier - que demain ": "I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow.” This pendant has been tarnished to enhance the beams.

The French saying comes from the verse of the poem written by Mrs Rosemonde Gerard to her lover and husband: Edmond Rostand, the famous French writer of Cyrano de Bergerac, a dramatic love play. Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler's from Lyon, made a love medallion with this verse written on it.
