Description

A charming item of Georgian sewing ware. This is a lovely silver pincushion in the form of a swing handle basket.

The base has basket weave design and the body has embossed shells and flowers. A delightful collector's piece. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. The cushion has been replaced at some point.

Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver (not unusual for small items of Georgian silver).

Date :- c1820.

Height :- 3.5 cms (handle up).

Depth :- 1.7 cms.

Width :- 2.5 cms. (widest point).

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
