Description

A lovely example of a solid sterling silver pin cushion, fashioned as a cradle or crib.

Clearly hallmarked on the side for Birmingham 1896, with the maker's mark of Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, the silver is in excellent condition. The repousse work is crisp. The raised ends both carry the Royal coat of arms, which possibly commemorates Queen Victoria's Jubilee. The cushion is in turquoise velvet and is also in excellent condition.
