Description

A rare Victorian silver mounted vinaigrette. This charming example has a Bristol Blue panel cut body of acorn form. The lid is hinged and unscrews to allow access to the vinaigrette interior. A superb collector's item.

Condition :- Very good with no cracks to the glass and no splits or dents to the lid. The body has some fleabite nibbles, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Unmarked (not unusual for perfumes and small silver items of the period).

Origin :- British.

Date :- C1880.

Length :- 4 cms.

Diameter :- 2.5 cms. (widest point).

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
