Description

This is an utterly phenomenal antique diamond which dates from around the beginning of the nineteenth century. That it rests in a collet (basket) that would have been specially handmade for this stone is testament the quality and rarity of the diamond. You almost never see diamonds this old that are this white and clean. When this came into our possession, it was mounted on sad yellow gold band that had seen better days, so we replaced with it with a new white gold band: it's now ready to dazzle for the next 200 years. A timeless treasure.

Cut - Old Oval Cut.

Colour - Colourless; E.

Clarity - Totally loupe clean. VVS.

Carat - 1.17.

Condition - Excellent.

Circa - Diamond and the collet are from the early 1800s; the band is newer.

Size - Currently O1/2 (UK) or 7 1/4 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements - The diamond, including the claws, measures 7.8mm by 6.7mm and sits 5.4mm from the finger.

Metal - 18k (white) gold. Tested.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
