Description

A splendid Victorian cut glass ink bottle, mounted with a hallmarked silver and tortoiseshell lid. This wonderful piece has an oval,fluted body and star cut base. The lid and collar are hallmarked silver and the cap is tortoiseshell, inlaid with silver pique work. A beautiful piece.

Condition :- Very good, with no dents or splits to the silver or tortoiseshell. there are some fleabites to the ribs on the glass, but no cracks or serious chips.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Maker :- Gibson & Langman.

Width :- 6.5 cms.

Depth :- 4.5 cms.

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
