Description

An unusual and collectable item of Victorian sewing ware. This is a beautiful repousse scissor case. It has a shaped ,undulating body of tapering form. The lid is hinged and has a vacant cartouche to the front and the decoration has foliar and floral details. The interior is lined with plush and has three graduated compartments.

Condition :- Very good with no holes, splits or dents. There are a few very minor dimples to the back, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Readable.

Maker :- Deakin & Francis

Length :- 15 cms.

Width :- 5 cms. (widest point)

2.5 cms. (narrowist point)

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
