Description

A delightful silver snuff or pill box, dating from the reign of William IV.

This lovely example has detailed foliate engraving to the lid and the base is unusually engraved with thistles.

The inside is fully gilded and the edges are reeded. An interesting collector's item.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. A couple of pinpricks, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Corresponding sets to lid and base.

Maker :- Francis Clark.

Length :- 4.75 cms.

Width :- 3 cms.

Depth :- 1 cm.

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
