This circular Regency cabinet plate originates from the Barr, Flight and Barr Worcester factory between 1804 and 1913. Constructed from porcelain, the piece displays a salmon-pink glaze enriched with extensive gold leaf and enamel painting. The wide border holds elaborate gilt scrollwork alongside repeating oval cartouches filled with foliate motifs, while a fine vermicelli pattern surrounds the central well. Within the light blue centre sit two painted heraldic coronets, representing a marquess and a baron. The piece rests flat on a plain red textile surface against a matching red backdrop. Today, this decorative item serves primarily as a display piece for a sideboard top or cabinet shelf within a traditional interior. It functions as a fine example of early nineteenth-century English porcelain production, retaining an impressed factory mark below a crown and a printed Coventry Street address mark on the reverse. The plate requires careful handling and periodic dusting with a soft cloth to preserve the delicate enamel and gilding.

Barr, Flight & Barr Worcester porcelain represents the production period between 1804 and 1813 at the Worcester porcelain factory in England. The period is characterised by precise gilding, intricate armorial decorations, rich ground colours, and neoclassical styling under royal patronage.

These pieces were crafted from soft-paste porcelain paste, finished with an overglaze enamel paint and mercurial gilding applied by skilled artisans using gold leaf.

Authentic examples often feature an impressed BFB mark beneath a crown on the underside, incised marks, or printed script marks indicating the London studio address alongside high-density gilding and precise heraldic hand-painting.

Designers display armorial plates individually on brass plate stands atop sideboards or group them as symmetrical wall compositions within traditional and transitional rooms.

Wash gently by hand in warm water using a mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive pads or immersion in standing water, and dust surface gilding with a dry microfibre cloth.
