This early 20th century Edwardian brooch is a circular silver piece featuring a scalloped rim, a beaded border, and a raised central silver pixie figure set against a landscape of turquoise blue, purple, and green enamel. The object includes a 'C' clasp pin fastening on the reverse and a shell-like form. Measuring 2.7 cm high, 2.7 cm wide, and 0.7 cm deep, it is a small wearable item. In a modern interior, the brooch is worn as a decorative accessory on clothing such as lapels, scarves, or hats. It serves as a traditional good luck token and gift piece, combining traditional metalwork and vitreous enamel techniques in a portable format.

Cornish piskie brooches became popular souvenir items in the early twentieth century, particularly during the Edwardian era. Depicting the mythical pixie of Cornish folklore, these pieces were crafted in silver and enamel as good luck charms for tourists visiting South West England.

These brooches are typically constructed from sterling silver or continental silver, featuring vitreous enamel applied through techniques such as champleve or guilloche. The enamel consists of powdered glass fused to the metal surface under high heat.

Authentic pieces often bear makers marks, purity hallmarks (such as STG SIL or 925), and characteristic hand-finished details. The reverse typically displays a traditional C-clasp or simple tube hinge pin mechanism.

Antique silver brooches can be worn on modern coat lapels, pinned to denim jackets, attached to scarves, or styled as hat pins to add a historic element to contemporary outfits.

Clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and avoid submerging in liquid polish or harsh chemicals, which can damage vitreous enamel. Store flat in a lined box to prevent scratching the enamel surface.
