Walnut Standard Lamp C.1920

Description

Early 20th.c. walnut standard or floor lamp c.1920. Single bulb raised on a tapering fluted column with turned and carved elements. Globe and turned stem over a 13½" diameter base weighted with metal on the underside for stability and with three turned feet. Very good condition, rewired cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

This early 20th-century standard floor lamp originates from around 1920 and stands at 162.5 cm high with a 34.5 cm diameter base. Produced from walnut timber in a rich mid-brown hue, the fixture supports a single bulb atop a tapering fluted column decorated with turned and carved elements. A rounded globe section sits above a turned stem, rising from a circular base equipped with three low turned feet and weighted underneath with metal. The polished wooden surface displays a warm waxed finish. In a contemporary home, this standing light provides ambient illumination next to a sofa or armchair in a living room, or functions as a reading light in a study or library. The cord exits from the base, connecting the rewired electrical components to a wall socket.
