This pair of Nymphenburg candlesticks dates from 1920 and follows a Rococo style reminiscent of a French Chateau. Fabricated from glazed porcelain, the set presents a bright white colour and a glossy reflective finish. The composition incorporates detailed relief decoration, including prominent rocaille scrollwork, acanthus leaf moulding, a tiered baluster stem, and a flared circular base. Each piece stands 20.5 cm high, 14 cm wide, and 14 cm deep, providing a compact proportion suitable for display. Suitable for placement on a mantelpiece in a traditional interior, the candlesticks serve as functional table accessories or decorative ornaments. The modelled surface exhibits complex relief work with floral or foliate motifs wrapping around the cylindrical stems and expanding across the wide domed feet. Small circular apertures at the top accommodate standard taper candles. The white ceramic body catches the surrounding light across its curved surfaces, accentuating the sculptural contours of the moulded design.

Rococo porcelain candlesticks feature asymmetrical scrollwork, rocaille motifs, organic relief moulding, and elaborate baluster forms popularised in 18th-century European manufacturing.

Traditional porcelain candlesticks were crafted using hard-paste or soft-paste porcelain clay, slip-moulded in sections, assembled by hand, and glazed prior to high-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic Nymphenburg porcelain typically features an impressed Bavarian shield mark, painter numbers or factory marks near the underside rim, and crisp, detailed relief moulding.

Position white porcelain candlesticks as central decorative accents on a dining table, mantelpiece, or sideboard to contrast against timber surfaces or modern minimalist decor.

Clean porcelain using lukewarm water with mild liquid soap and a non-abrasive soft cloth, ensuring leftover wax is melted away with warm water rather than scraped off.
