This Edwardian silver travelling cologne bottle trio comprises three wedge-shaped clear glass scent bottles paired with an open cylindrical black leather travel case. The piece utilises silver, glass, and leather, displaying silver-mounted vanity bottles with bayonet-top silver lids and collars, strawberry diamond cut glass facets, bevelled edges, and domed silver lids decorated in leaves and flowers, alongside a hinged leather case featuring internal partitions and a metal stud fastener. Visible details include two glass stoppers, one cork seal, and clear readable hallmarks indicating Birmingham 1904 by maker A & J Zimmerman. The bottles measure 11.5 cm high, 6.5 cm wide, and 3.5 cm deep. In a modern interior, this gentleman's library set sits suitably on a bedside table to hold personal grooming items or serve as a vanity display piece. The materials exhibit a combination of clear glass and polished metal finishes against the dark leather exterior. The practical partitioned container and removable stoppers allow the three individual vessels to be housed together or displayed separately.

During the Edwardian era (19011910), luxury travel accessories became popular amongst wealthy individuals. Travelling cologne sets were designed to fit neatly into luggage while protecting fragile glass bottles inside lined leather cases.

These sets typically combine heavy cut or faceted glass bottles, sterling silver or silver-plated caps, and internal glass stoppers. The protective outer cases are commonly constructed from stiffened leather lined with suede, velvet, or silk.

Authentic pieces generally feature British hallmark stamps on the silver mounts detailing the maker, silver purity standard, assay office, and date letter. Additionally, period-appropriate items show hand-faceted cut glass, ground glass stoppers matched to specific bottle necks, and hand-stitched leather casing.

Display the glass bottles alongside the open leather casing on a dressing table, bathroom vanity unit, or bedside table. Grouping the clear glass and metallic silver elements with soft textiles or dark polished wood creates an elegant vignette.

Clean glass bottles using mild dish soap and warm water, avoiding harsh chemicals. Polish silver caps with a soft microfiber cloth and specialised silver polish, ensuring liquids do not enter internal mechanisms, and treat leather cases with a neutral leather conditioner.
