This Georgian gentleman's library inkstand combines sterling silver, cut glass, and ebony materials in silver and black colours. An oval reeded ebony base holds four faceted cut glass pots, comprising two clear and two Bristol blue bodies, each fitted with pierced sterling silver lids and mounts. A central silver loop handle rises from the stand, terminating in a decorative crown finial. Hallmarks including the lion passant and maker's mark appear on the silver elements, while the glass bottles show wear and tear including chips and knocks from age. The piece measures 20 cm in width by 15 cm in depth and 22 cm in height. This item serves as a functional and decorative desk accessory for an office desk, study, or library setting.

A George III silver inkstand is an 18th to early 19th-century desk accessory crafted in Great Britain, typically featuring silver-mounted glass vessels held within a wooden or silver tray for desktop correspondence.

Georgian inkstands were commonly constructed using hallmarked sterling silver, turned ebony or rosewood bases, and hand-cut lead crystal or cobalt glass pots.

Authentic British silver pieces feature hallmarks including the monarchs head mark, makers mark, date letter, lion passant for sterling purity, and town mark stamped onto the silver components.

Position the inkstand on an executive writing desk, study bookcase shelf, or sideboard top to add historic texture and refined craftsmanship to a modern working environment.

Polish the silver components using a dry soft cloth and specialist silver cleaner while protecting the wooden base, which requires gentle dusting and periodic natural beeswax application.
