Edwardian jewellery, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by the introduction of platinum, delicate garland motifs, and an emphasis on diamonds and pearls for a light, ethereal aesthetic.

Edwardian jewellers frequently utilised platinum for its strength and malleability, allowing for intricate wirework, paired predominantly with diamonds, often cut in the old European or old mine style.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut old European diamonds, heavy use of platinum with characteristic millgrain detailing, and handmade settings that show slight variations due to pre-industrial craftsmanship.

These versatile pieces integrate seamlessly into contemporary wardrobes by providing a touch of understated historical elegance that complements both casual daywear and formal evening attire.

Preservation involves storing pieces individually in soft pouches to prevent scratching, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on fragile historic settings, and having professional inspections of the prongs periodically.
