Description

A delightful and rare silver and tortoiseshell desk impliment. This unusual piece has a silver hallmarked penknife, mounted with a tortoiseshell page turner.

The pen knife would be used for cutting the pages of a book or journal that had not been fully finished at the publishers. Something not uncommon in the early 20th Century and still found occasionally today.

Condition :- Excellent, with no splits or dents.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Maker :- William Hornby.

Length :- 13 cms. (closed) and 16.5 cms (open).
