An Edwardian spinning fob is a decorative pendant traditionally worn on a pocket watch chain, featuring a central rotating element often set with hardstones like bloodstone or carnelian, frequently used historically as a wax seal.

These fobs are typically constructed from 9-carat or 15-carat gold, rolled gold, or gilt brass, paired with semi-precious hardstones such as bloodstone, jasper, chalcedony, or carnelian.

Authentic pieces generally feature period-appropriate hallmarks indicating gold carat weight, hand-assembled swivel mechanisms, bezel settings typical of the early 20th century, and natural hand-carved stones.

An antique fob can be worn today as a pendant suspended from a modern gold chain or integrated onto a heavier link charm bracelet for a layered look.

Clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and warm soapy water, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage cemented stones or soft metals, and store them individually to prevent scratching.
