Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, precision, and the frequent pairing of diamonds with platinum or white gold.

Authentic pieces frequently utilise platinum for its strength and ability to hold delicate millegrain detailing, often combined with yellow gold shanks and old-mine or old-European cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut diamonds such as old European or single cuts, hand-applied millegrain edges, open-work gallery construction, and period hallmarks.

An antique ring can be styled as a distinctive standalone engagement piece or paired with minimalist contemporary wedding bands to highlight its historical geometry.

Preserve the piece by storing it in a fabric-lined box, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and having the setting and millegrain inspected periodically by a professional jeweller.
