We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bridge markers are small utilitarian objects used during card games, particularly contract bridge, to indicate the current trump suit. They gained significant popularity during the 1920s and 1930s alongside the global craze for the game.

They were typically fashioned from sterling silver, plated metals, or enamel, often featuring swinging panels made of celluloid, bone, or ivorine to display the suit or designation.

Authenticity is generally verified through clear British hallmarks stamped on the metal base indicating the makers mark, silver standard, assay office, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate typography on the panels.

These small objects serve as charming curiosities on a bookshelf, coffee table, or desk, adding a touch of vintage sophistication and conversational historical interest to a room.

Silver components should be cleaned gently using a non-abrasive microfibre cloth and specialised silver polish, avoiding harsh chemicals that might damage organic insert panels such as bone or celluloid.
