Victorian Scottish pebble jewellery features native stones such as agate, jasper, and cairngorm set in silver, popularized significantly during the mid-19th century following Queen Victorias fondness for Balmoral and the Scottish Highlands.

These pieces typically utilize naturally banded chalcedony or agate stones, cut and polished into specific geometric shapes, and linked with hand-fabricated sterling or coin silver findings and chain links.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut stone variations, natural banding within the chalcedony, period-appropriate silver hallmarks or tests, and traditional Victorian wire hooks or closed-back bezel settings.

These earrings pair well with minimalist modern attire or tailored evening wear, allowing the historic craftsmanship and natural patterns of the banded stones to serve as a focal point.

Store them in a dry, tarnish-resistant lined box, avoid immersion in liquid jewellery cleaners due to the porous nature of certain agates, and clean gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
