Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Edwardian period spans the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, characterised by lighter, more delicate designs often drawing inspiration from neoclassical, art nouveau, and eighteenth-century styles.

These items are typically crafted from sterling silver, often featuring detailed repousse work, chased ornamentation, or engraved monograms, and are frequently housed in leatherette cases lined with velvet and satin.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a lion passant for sterling silver, a city mark, a date letter corresponding to the early 1900s, and a makers mark.

They can be used functionally during formal dinner parties to hold linen serviettes or displayed within their original presentation case on a sideboard or cabinet as a subtle nod to historical craftsmanship.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain the patina, stored in a tarnish-resistant environment, and kept away from rubber, dampness, and direct sunlight.
