1960s Danish modernist jewellery is characterised by sculptural forms, clean lines, an emphasis on functionalist aesthetics, and a focus on sterling silver paired with contrasting gemstones.

Silversmiths typically utilised high-grade sterling silver, often combined with cabochon-cut natural stones such as black onyx, amber, or quartz, employing casting and hand-finishing techniques.

Authentic pieces usually feature maker marks, town marks, purity stamps such as 830s or 925s, and Denmark stamped directly onto the metal surface.

This type of jewellery pairs well with minimalist contemporary wardrobes or can be layered with other metallic accessories to highlight its sculptural silhouette.

Store pieces in a tarnish-resistant pouch away from direct light and moisture, and clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth without using harsh chemical dips on the gemstone.
