Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Victorian metal bedsteads are characterised by industrial manufacturing techniques combined with decorative casting, often featuring tubular iron frames, brass knobs, and intricate foot-end shaping.

These beds were typically constructed using a combination of malleable iron for structural stability and brass for decorative components such as finials, rails, and joint mounts.

Authentic pieces usually display hand-poured iron castings, threaded joints, maker stamps, and appropriate surface oxidisation consistent with nineteenth-century manufacturing methods.

Pairing the metallic frame with neutral linens, textured throws, and minimalist decor creates a balanced focal point that bridges historical character with modern design.

Maintenance involves dusting with a dry microfiber cloth and avoiding harsh chemical polishes that can strip the aged patina from brass components.
